I am a 19 year old Midwestern kid from Iowa. I am studying to be a Special Education teacher and also play softball for Luther College. I have been playing softball since the time I could stand on my own two feet and swing a bat. It’s my life, and has become my safe haven from the harsh realities of the world.
I have spent my entire life trying to discover and define my religious identity. I was baptized Catholic but only went to church a handful of times growing up. I didn’t grow up reading the Bible or hearing about who Jesus was. In fact, my childhood was anything but ideal. My father was an alcoholic and my mother was bipolar. So I learned very quickly in life how to rely on myself. By the time I reached high school I was lost. I was fortunate enough to have teachers and coaches in my life who started mentoring me and teaching me the Christian faith.
Jesus saved my life and I hope to share my story with those who are willing to listen. Those who read this blog will follow me as I read the Bible and grow in my faith. I hope to restore faith for others who are lost in their journey. Your journey means something to the world, just like mine. I have finally began to believe that. Hopefully Jesus can help you believe that too.
